Kwande LG Chairman Pays Tribute to Slain Police Officer Isaac Madu

The Executive Chairman of Kwande Local Government Area in Benue State and Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Rt. Hon. Vitalis Terhile Neji, has paid his last respects to Police Officer Isaac Madu, who was killed in the line of duty during a recent attack in Abande community.

Rt. Hon. Neji joined the deceased officer’s family members and fellow security personnel at the Mobile Police (MOPOL) Headquarters in Makurdi, where final arrangements were being made to transport Officer Madu’s remains to his home state for burial.

Describing the fallen officer as a dedicated and courageous patriot, the chairman expressed profound sorrow over the tragic loss. He noted that Officer Madu sacrificed his life while protecting lives and property in the community.

Neji extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and assured them of the continued support and solidarity of the Kwande Local Government Area government and its people. He also commended security operatives across Benue State for their bravery in the face of ongoing threats and prayed for the peaceful repose of the late officer’s soul.

The tribute comes amid heightened security concerns in parts of Kwande LGA, where recent attacks—including the February 3 incident in Abende that claimed multiple lives—have prompted sustained police operations, reinforcements, and community appeals for greater protection. Officer Madu’s death underscores the risks faced by security personnel deployed to safeguard vulnerable areas in the state.
