Abuja-based Benue businesswoman Kumaden Tivkaa has publicly commended Governor Hyacinth Iormemem Alia for ensuring consistent and timely payment of pensions to retirees in the state, describing the development as far more than a political achievement—it is, she said, “a personal blessing.”
In a heartfelt Facebook post shared on Friday, February 21, 2026, Tivkaa recounted how her parents—lifelong teachers—now receive their pension alerts promptly and without the delays that once plagued many retirees. She expressed profound relief and gratitude, noting the emotional and financial security the regular payments have brought to her family.
“Now, the pension alerts come in even before I receive my salary,” she wrote, adding with humour that she has become the one “bothering” the pension office instead of the other way around. Tivkaa also made a playful but earnest plea for her father’s gratuity to be settled while he is still alive.
“Seeing my parents cared for isn’t just a political win—it’s a personal blessing,” she stated. “Thank you, Governor Alia, for putting our elders first.”
Tivkaa’s post highlights the tangible human impact of the Alia administration’s pension reforms, which have restored dignity and financial stability to many retired civil servants across Benue State. Her testimony underscores growing public appreciation for the governor’s focus on retirees’ welfare, often cited as one of the key achievements of his tenure so far.
The businesswoman’s message has resonated widely online, with many readers sharing similar stories of improved pension experiences and echoing calls for continued prioritisation of elderly citizens in governance.
