In a raw and emotional Facebook post that has set tongues wagging across Benue and beyond, popular socialite and businessman Ukeyima John UKmoni has publicly confirmed the end of his marriage, exactly one day before what would have been the couple’s 5th wedding anniversary.
Taking to his verified Facebook page on Wednesday 11th December 2025, UKmoni wrote:
“Please, I will appreciate it if those calling or coming to my inbox to advise me about my marriage can stop. I am the one wearing the shoes, and I know exactly where it pinches. I, UKmoni, have peacefully moved on with my life, and both families are well informed. I won’t be the first or the last to divorce, so please let UKmoni be.
Today 11th December 2025 could have marked my 5th wedding anniversary but I am single again, my main priority is to take care of myself and provide for my 2 kids which I was and I am still doing it excellently.
I am not a perfect man – I accept that. Let me stay with my ‘bad character’ in peace. Shin wange jo?
After all #IKnowWhereIBelong”
Attached to the post was a photo of UKmoni casually leaning against his car with the boot open, a picture that many have interpreted as a symbolic “packing up and moving on.”
Within hours the post went viral, drawing thousands of reactions, shares, and comments ranging from shock and sympathy to outright celebration from some quarters who have followed the couple’s once very public romance.
UKmoni, known for his outspoken personality and lavish lifestyle, had built a huge online following partly on the back of his fairy-tale love story that culminated in a glamorous wedding five years ago. Today’s announcement therefore marks a dramatic full circle.
While the specific reasons for the separation remain private, UKmoni stressed that the decision was mutual and peaceful, with both families fully in the know and the welfare of their two children firmly secured.
In a society where marriages, especially high-profile ones, are expected to endure at all costs, UKmoni’s bold declaration of choosing personal peace over pretense has sparked fresh conversations about mental health, self-worth, and the courage to walk away when a union no longer serves its purpose.
As he famously ended the post: “I know where I belong.”
For now, UKmoni says he is single, focused, and at peace. And he wants the world to respect that.
