The Executive Secretary of the Bureau for Mines and Solid Minerals, Benue State, Hon. Stephen Aondona Uta, on Friday visited Shangev-Ya in Kwande Local Government Area to inspect ongoing community projects being executed with his support.
During the visit, Hon. Uta inspected the construction of four culverts at Kohol, Shangev-Ya, with two additional ones earmarked for construction. He also visited the ongoing construction of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church at Mbagohl in Mbape Parish.
As part of the empowerment initiative, Hon. Uta presented a complete sound system to Mr. Wanhide Tyoalumun Awua, popularly known as Wahoney, to support his career as a disc jockey (DJ). He also handed over four motorcycles to beneficiaries from communities in Kwande LGA Hon. Aondowase Bigila, Iorsoo Andyary, Catherine Ajaver, and Hon. Abuul Akpehe in appreciation of their contributions and as support for their livelihoods.
Hon. Uta urged community members to safeguard the ongoing projects by protecting both construction materials and workers on site. He noted that the interventions align with the commitment of Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, to implement projects that improve the lives of the people. He further encouraged the beneficiaries to make productive use of the items to enhance their livelihoods and contribute positively to their communities.
Community members commended Hon. Uta for the projects and empowerment initiatives, while also praising Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia for his developmental efforts across Benue State.
