Guma Council Chairman Hon. Orwough Maurice Tours Operational Sites with COAS Battalion Commander, Hails Security Gains

Hon. Orwough Maurice, Executive Chairman of Guma Local Government Council, has commended the Nigerian Army and other security agencies for ongoing efforts to restore peace and enable farming activities in the area.

In a statement accompanying photos from the tour, the Council Chairman revealed that he inspected several locations in Guma alongside Lt. Col. Otobo, Commander of Operation COAS Battalion. The Command is working on establishing new units aimed at creating a safer environment for residents to carry out farming activities effectively.

Hon. Maurice noted with satisfaction that people are resuming farming at a high speed, describing it as a positive outcome of the increased security presence. He expressed appreciation for the attention being given to Guma by Governor Hyacinth Alia and extended gratitude to the police, civil defence, and other security agencies for their contributions.

The Chairman emphasised that government remains committed to placing the safety of citizens first and called on all individuals to join forces with security agencies to bring an end to the security challenges in the area.
