Governor Alia Commends Alochu Foundation on 20th Anniversary, Reaffirms Pledge to Complete Awajir-Oju Road

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has lavished praise on the Alochu Foundation as it marks its 20th anniversary, highlighting its enduring contributions to humanitarian services and community development across the state.

Speaking on Saturday in Oju during the milestone celebration, which coincided with the inauguration of the Alochu Political Support Group dedicated to backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Alia’s 2027 re-election bids, Alia described the foundation’s founder, High Chief Francis Alochu Ikpobu, as a humble and compassionate leader deeply committed to uplifting his community and humanity at large.

Established in 2004 with a core mission of giving back to society, the Alochu Foundation has over the past two decades focused on charitable initiatives that have positively impacted numerous lives in Benue.

Governor Alia seized the occasion to once again reassure residents of his administration’s unwavering determination to complete the ongoing Awajir-Oju road project, a critical infrastructure linking key communities and expected to boost economic activities in the region.

The event also drew commendations from other notable figures, including representatives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership and traditional rulers, who acknowledged Chief Alochu’s philanthropic efforts and the foundation’s role in fostering societal progress.
