Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia has continued his push to improve learning environments across Benue State with the commissioning of a modern classroom block in Otukpo Local Government Area.
The newly constructed facility, featuring spacious, well-ventilated classrooms, is part of ongoing efforts to address infrastructure deficits in public schools and provide conducive spaces for teaching and learning. The building includes multiple classrooms designed to accommodate growing student populations and support quality education delivery.
The project reflects the administration’s commitment to revitalizing the education sector through targeted infrastructure upgrades, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas where many schools have long suffered from dilapidated structures and overcrowding.
Residents and education stakeholders in Otukpo have welcomed the development, noting that the new block will ease congestion, improve teacher effectiveness, and create a more enabling atmosphere for students. The initiative aligns with broader plans to rehabilitate and construct additional classroom blocks, furnish schools, and enhance overall basic and secondary education facilities statewide.
Governor Alia has consistently emphasized education as a priority pillar of his administration, with investments aimed at bridging gaps caused by years of neglect and ensuring every child in Benue has access to decent learning conditions. The Otukpo classroom block is the latest in a series of similar projects being rolled out across various local government areas.
