Dr. Tyokuu Phillip, a frontline aspirant for the Makurdi/Guma House of Representatives, was met with a heartfelt reception today during a visit to his maternal home in Mbagwa, Guma Local Government Area. The community turned out in force to bless and support the young politician, signaling strong backing for his upcoming election bid.
The event began with a warm welcome led by the Ugondo community of Mbayongu, where Elder Murphy Jude Tsetim reported that Dr. Tyokuu was officially handed over to Mbagwa for blessings. Zaki Chia lorbee, a respected kindred head, led the ceremony, emphasizing the community’s full support and confidence in Dr. Tyokuu’s readiness to represent them at the National Assembly.
Responding on behalf of Mbagwa, respected leaders including Elder Pine Igbana, Hon. Lazarus Asema, Unongu Umela, and Mrs. Roseline Belamo (APC Woman Leader, Mbagwa) praised Dr. Tyokuu for his connection with his people. They assured him of their unwavering support, expressing confidence that he will secure victory in the coming election.
Members of Dr. Tyokuu’s entourage, including Hon. Phillip Ortaver, Dr. Margaret Bija, and Hon. Innocent Niyongu, also spoke, thanking the people of Mbagwa for their massive turnout. In his remarks, APC Chairman of Guma, Hon. Lazarus Asema, encouraged Dr. Tyokuu to consult widely and prayed that his good deeds would be rewarded. As a party chairman and father figure, he pledged wholehearted support and promised to work tirelessly for Dr. Tyokuu’s victory if the party grants him the ticket.
