In a significant development for law enforcement in Benue State, the Executive Chairman of Guma Local Government Council, Hon. Maurice Orwough, has announced that reconstruction work on the Daudu Police Station will commence tomorrow, September 20, 2025. The announcement was made during a visit to the Daudu Police Division, where Hon. Orwough outlined the goals of the facelift project.
The initiative aims to improve the working environment for security personnel, boost their morale, and enhance overall operational efficiency. This move comes as part of a broader effort to prioritize security and provide a conducive environment for law enforcement agencies in the region.
The project received a green light following the recent approval by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, of a request from Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia, to upgrade the Daudu Police Division to the status of a Police Area Command. In line with this development, Hon. Orwough has directed the immediate remodeling of the station to meet the new standards.
During his remarks to the Divisional Police Officer, SP Terseer Imoban, Hon. Orwough emphasized that the project aligns with his administration’s commitment to prioritizing security and supporting law enforcement agencies. In response, SP Imoban welcomed the initiative, expressing gratitude and describing it as a timely intervention that will reinforce public safety and strengthen community confidence in the area’s security architecture.
This facelift and reconstruction project marks a pivotal step toward enhancing the operational capacity of the Daudu Police Station, promising a more effective and morale-boosted security force for the community.
