Benue residents have every corner of the state are celebrating tonight after Benue Links Nigeria Limited officially unveiled its 2025 Christmas transport fare reduction, a direct implementation of Governor Hyacinth Alia’s promise to make holiday travel affordable for all.
The announcement was made on Thursday afternoon by the General Manager, Comrade Alexander Aondobemba Fanafa, during a colourful solidarity visit by the APC Wisdom Women, a powerful female political pressure group, to the company’s corporate headquarters in Makurdi.
Effective Monday, 8th December 2025, commuters will enjoy massive cuts on all intra-state routes, with the popular Makurdi–Gboko trip dropping to just ₦1,000 and dozens of other local government destinations reduced by up to 60%.
While receiving the women, Comrade Fanafa thanked them for their unwavering support and prayers, urging them to keep mobilising more grassroots backing for Governor Alia’s re-election in 2027. He described the fare slash as proof that the Alia administration listens to the cries of the ordinary people and acts swiftly.
The APC Wisdom Women, led by Hon. Mrs. Kpadoo Atetan, used the occasion to present an Award of Excellence to the GM, praising his transformative leadership that has repositioned Benue Links as the most reliable and passenger-friendly transport company in North-Central Nigeria.
As parks across the state begin displaying the new fare charts, travellers are already hailing Governor Alia’s gesture as “the best Christmas package any administration has ever given the people of Benue.”
With loading expected to commence in earnest from Monday, the roads home this December will not only be cheaper but filled with songs of gratitude to a governor who, in the words of one excited passenger, “truly carries the burden of the common man.”
