The Acting Chairman of the Benue State Internal Revenue Service (BIRS), Mr. Joseph Kwaghhgba, has issued a press release addressing a misleading publication circulating on social media and other platforms. The statement, released at 8:42 PM WAT on Monday, categorically denies claims that Kwaghhgba appointed Hon. Moses Vangeriya as the “Chairman (Coordinator) on Taxation” for Gboko Local Government Area.

The BIRS describes the information as a deliberate spread of falsehood designed to mislead the public. Kwaghhgba clarified that no such appointment was made, and he has not assigned anyone to the mentioned position or any similar role in Gboko or other local government areas. The press release further notes that the position does not exist within the official structure and nomenclature of the Benue State Internal Revenue Service.
