Benue Man Publicly Announces Ex-Wife’s Remarriage, Prioritises Children’s Welfare

Hon. Dr. Levi Aondohemba Orhii has publicly announced that his former wife, Mrs. Maris Mngohol Orhii, has remarried. In a notice shared on his Facebook page alongside photographs of the two, Orhii stated that Maris, whom he traditionally married in July 2014, is now legally married to Ibrahim Musa Ali.

According to him, she will henceforth be known as Mrs. Maris Mngohol Ibrahim Musa Ali. The former couple’s marriage produced two daughters, and Orhii emphasised that despite their separation, the welfare of the children remains a shared responsibility.

Rather than expressing bitterness, he said he respects her decision and wishes her well as she begins a new chapter in her life. He further noted that both of them are currently working amicably to ensure the proper care and wellbeing of their daughters.

The announcement has drawn attention online, largely because of Orhii’s decision to openly acknowledge his former wife’s new marriage while stressing peace, mutual respect and the priority of their children’s welfare.
