Benue Juice Industry Set to Boost Economy and Employment, Says Chief of Staff Barr. Moses Atagher

The newly established Benue Juice Industry is poised to commence full operations soon, promising a significant boost to the state’s economy and youth employment. This assurance came from Hon. Barr. Moses Atagher, Chief of Staff to Governor Fr. Hyacinth Alia, during a meeting with the Orange Dealers Association Gboko Branch on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at his Makurdi residence.

Barr. Atagher, a seasoned legal figure and former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Benue State, hailed Governor Alia’s industrialization policy as a fulfillment of his campaign promises. He emphasized that the juice company’s establishment is a deliberate move to create massive employment opportunities for Benue youths while enhancing the steady flow of internally generated revenue and addressing food insecurity.

The Chief of Staff encouraged orange dealers to invest heavily in orange farming to meet the company’s production demands, expressing confidence that their support will help sustain Alia’s administration through 2031. He also pledged the administration’s commitment to eliminating illegal checkpoints across Benue State, a concern raised by the association and previously addressed by the Benue Internal Revenue Service (BIRS).

Earlier, Mr. Terlumun Saa, President of the Gboko Branch of the Orange Dealers Association, explained that the visit aimed to congratulate and identify with Barr. Atagher following his appointment as Chief of Staff by Governor Alia. The association described the appointment as a historic and remarkable decision, commending Alia for selecting a worthy candidate for the role.

The association also praised the establishment of the Orange Juice Company, noting it as a development that will reduce fruit wastage and enable Benue to market its home products effectively. They highlighted challenges such as double taxation and illegal checkpoints on roads, which the administration has committed to addressing.

As the Benue Juice Industry prepares to ignite operations, the state looks forward to a new era of economic growth and youth empowerment under Governor Alia’s leadership.
