The Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) has taken a significant step forward in its ambitious plan to kickstart beer production at the Food Basket Brewery. The company recently received five additional containers, bringing the total number of containers delivered to 76. These consignments, loaded with over 100,000 empty 50cl beer cans, along with essential equipment, machinery, raw materials, bottles, crates, pallets, and LPG, are setting the stage for an imminent production launch.
Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, CFA, the Group Managing Director of BIPC, highlighted the importance of this milestone. “The arrival of the beer cans marks another major step toward the commencement of beer production at the brewery,” he stated. He further noted that the five trucks currently visible at the site are carrying the 50cl empty beer cans, signaling that brewing is close to commencing.
The company has already received 71 trucks prior to today’s delivery, with an additional five trucks arriving, making a total of 76. BIPC is also anticipating the arrival of 12 more trucks carrying carbonated drinks and 2 trucks of customized fridges to support the brewery’s operations. Ongoing assembly of equipment, preparation for brewing, and key structural and electrical works are progressing, paving the way for production to begin soon.
Dr. Asemakaha Jr. expressed gratitude to His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, the Executive Governor of Benue State, for his visionary leadership and commitment to transforming the state’s industrial landscape. This development underscores BIPC’s efforts to bolster the local economy and establish Benue as a hub for industrial growth.
