Benue Government and CAN Holds Interdenominational Service to Mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Benue State Chapter, in collaboration with the Benue State Government, hosted an interdenominational thanksgiving service today at Christ Anglican Church, High Level, Makurdi, to commemorate Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary. The event, held on Sunday, 28th September 2025, brought together the community in a spirit of gratitude and reflection.

Representing Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, his deputy, Dr. Sam Ode, delivered an address highlighting the nation’s democratic journey. He described Nigeria’s 65 years of independence as a period of progress despite numerous challenges, emphasizing the resilience and hope of the people.
