Benue Activist Zege Orkwande Donates ₦50,000 to Support Struggling BSU Student’s Fees

On Christmas Day, December 25, 2025, Benue-based social media activist D Naked Zege Orkwande brought a ray of hope to a struggling university student by personally donating ₦50,000 towards her academic expenses and calling on others to join in the support.

In a heartfelt post on his social media page, Orkwande highlighted the story of Igabasue Elizabeth, a 400-level Public Administration student at Benue State University (BSU), Makurdi, who has been facing significant financial challenges in funding her education. He described Elizabeth as a symbol of resilience and strength, pointing out that she supplements her income by selling firewood after school hours—a venture that has recently become less profitable due to prevailing economic difficulties.

According to Orkwande, Elizabeth’s total expenses for the upcoming semester are estimated at around ₦106,000. Moved by her determination to continue her studies despite the odds, he decided to contribute ₦50,000 from his personal resources while appealing to the public for additional assistance.

The activist emphasized that his gesture is meant to encourage young women who are striving to sustain themselves through legitimate means amid widespread economic hardship. Orkwande encouraged members of the public who wish to support Elizabeth to reach out to her directly via phone or social media, making it easier for well-wishers to contribute without intermediaries.
