The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State has taken a significant step to enhance its ongoing membership registration exercise by distributing gadgets and internet service devices to e-registration agents across the five council wards of Mata Constituency in Ushongo Local Government Area.
The distribution exercise took place at Doo Resort in Ushongo town and was supervised by Hon. Elijah Tyowase Ikyomke, the Mata Constituency Supervisor for the party. The items, which include laptops, modems, and other connectivity devices, are intended to equip agents with the necessary tools to carry out digital registration efficiently and accurately.
Hon. Ikyomke, while presenting the gadgets to the agents, urged them to make effective and responsible use of the equipment to ensure a smooth, credible, and seamless e-registration process. He emphasised that the provision of these modern tools demonstrates the APC’s commitment to embracing technology in strengthening its grassroots structure and expanding membership across the constituency.
The initiative is part of broader efforts by the party to modernise its registration and mobilisation strategies, particularly ahead of future electoral activities. By providing reliable internet-enabled devices, the APC aims to reduce logistical challenges, minimise errors in data capture, and improve the overall speed and transparency of the exercise.
Party officials and agents present at the event expressed appreciation for the gesture, noting that the gadgets would greatly facilitate real-time registration, data upload, and coordination in remote and semi-urban wards where connectivity issues had previously posed difficulties.
The distribution in Mata Constituency reflects the APC’s determination to build a robust, technology-driven party machinery at the local level, ensuring that membership drives are inclusive, efficient, and aligned with contemporary digital standards.
