A young woman studying at the College of Education, Katsina-Ala, has accused a man she met and entered into a relationship with of stealing her motorcycle, gas cylinder, and other personal belongings after he gained access to her home.
According to a detailed account shared on social media by a user identifying as D’naked Elder Sughnnen Yaaya, the incident began when the lady, while travelling on her motorcycle for the weekend, encountered Mr. Aondoaseer Hyacenth Iorttyom at Ugbemema Junction. The man reportedly requested a lift as he was also heading toward Turan-Kwande.
During their interaction, the lady allegedly assisted him when he became stranded in Jato-Aka by helping arrange free accommodation. The following day, she dropped him off at Ugbemema Junction, after which he returned to Gboko while she continued to Katsina-Ala.
The two reportedly stayed in contact, and their conversations developed into a romantic relationship. Aondoaseer later travelled to Katsina-Ala to visit her at school. On one occasion, he accompanied her to the school to assist with signing documents. While she waited in line, he reportedly asked for her motorcycle keys under the pretext of buying food for her.
Instead of returning with food, the man allegedly rode the motorcycle to the lady’s residence, used the room keys she had left with him or otherwise accessed, removed some of her valuable items—including the motorcycle, a gas cylinder, and other properties—and disappeared.
The lady claims he has since stopped answering her calls. When the social media poster reportedly contacted Aondoaseer to hear his side of the story, he allegedly ended the call and has not responded to further attempts to reach him.
The post identifies Aondoaseer Hyacenth Iorttyom as originating from Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State and lists a phone number purportedly belonging to him (07012547374), urging anyone who can reach him to do so.
No official police report or confirmation from authorities has been mentioned in the circulating account, and the matter remains at the level of social media allegations. The incident has sparked discussions online about trust in new relationships, the risks of sharing personal access such as keys or vehicles, and the growing use of public platforms to name individuals in personal disputes.
As of now, the accused has not publicly responded to the claims, and the lady’s identity has not been disclosed in the shared narrative. The story continues to circulate on local Facebook groups, with some users calling for caution in interpersonal dealings while others await any further developments or official action.
