Former Governor Ortom Hosts Dr. Akutah and Family to Warm Dinner in Makurdi

The residence of immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom, was filled with warmth and camaraderie as he and his wife, Dr. Eunice Ortom, hosted Dr. Akutah Pius Ukeyima, Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, along with his family, to a memorable dinner.

The gathering drew party heavyweights, business leaders, and stakeholders from across political divides, all coming together to celebrate unity and goodwill between the Ortom and Akutah families during the yuletide season.

In his welcome remarks, Chief Ortom commended Dr. Akutah for creating employment opportunities for many Benue indigenes and for his outstanding achievements in a short time at the Nigerian Shippers’ Council. He described the NSC boss as a proud ambassador of Benue State and explained that the dinner was organized to appreciate his positive contributions and encourage him to sustain them. Chief Ortom reiterated his commitment to prioritizing Benue’s interests and urged Dr. Akutah to continue promoting initiatives that enhance the welfare and security of the people.

Responding, Dr. Akutah expressed deep gratitude to Chief Ortom for the hospitality extended to him, his wife Barr. Mrs. Patricia Obehi Ukeyima, their four children, and his political associates. He praised the former governor’s eight-year leadership in safeguarding Benue lives and highlighted Ortom’s enduring love and commitment to the state. Dr. Akutah, who is nursing a 2027 governorship ambition on the APC platform, appreciated Chief Ortom’s role as a rallying point for unity and expressed pride in associating with the Benue PDP leader, noting that 2027 offers a chance for refined leadership to drive development across the state and nation.

Goodwill messages were delivered by several attendees, including Dr. Laha Dzever on behalf of the PDP G-14 and family, Hon. Abancha Tsenongo who praised the humility shared by both Ortom and Akutah, Prof. Joe Tor Iorapuu, and Hon. Abrahams Kwaghngu who moved the vote of thanks.

The event underscored cross-party harmony and mutual respect among Benue’s political class as the festive period continues.
