Prominent Tiv leader and former Managing Director of the Nigeria Shippers’ Council, Chief Barr. Emmanuel Jime (Shagba Wan U Tiv), has reiterated that his only remaining assignment in public life is to leave a lasting legacy for his people, emphatically stating that he has no interest in contesting elections merely to build personal wealth or prestige.
Speaking during an interface with his kinsmen at his Makurdi residence, the elder statesman dismissed suggestions that his political engagements are driven by aspirations for luxurious properties in Abuja or Makurdi. “I am not seeking election to construct a house in Abuja or a hotel in Makurdi, as that is not my aspiration,” he declared, adding that what he seeks is a credible platform to establish an enduring legacy—one that will be remembered long after he is gone.
