Benue Youth Commissioner Hon. Tiza Isaac Inspects Macathy Stadium, Assesses Ongoing Development

The Honourable Commissioner for Youths, Sports and Creativity in Benue State, Hon. Tiza Isaac Imojime Orya, has conducted an on-site inspection of Macathy Stadium to evaluate its current condition and progress toward rehabilitation.

 

The visit, captured live by Ohitty TV/Radio, comes as part of the state government’s commitment to revitalizing sports infrastructure and empowering youth through athletic development. Accompanied by top ministry officials and stakeholders, the Commissioner walked the facility’s perimeter, assessing the pitch, fencing, and surrounding structures.

While specific details of the inspection findings were not immediately disclosed, sources indicate the visit is a precursor to accelerated renovation works aimed at restoring the stadium to standard for local and regional competitions.

“We are here to see things for ourselves and ensure that Macathy Stadium regains its pride of place in Benue and beyond,” a ministry official was quoted as saying during the live broadcast.

The inspection follows growing calls from youth groups and sports enthusiasts for the government to upgrade dilapidated sporting venues across the state. Macathy Stadium, once a hub for football and community events, has suffered years of neglect.

Hon. Tiza, known for his hands-on approach since assuming office, has prioritized youth engagement and sports as tools for social development and talent discovery.
