Benue Lawmaker Hon. Peter Ipusu Clears Two Years of School Fees for Student Who Gifted Him Portrait

A heartwarming gesture from a Benue State lawmaker has captured public attention. Hon. Peter Ipusu, representing Kastina-ala State Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, has touched hearts by covering two years of school fees for an SS2 student who presented him with a hand-drawn portrait.

According to Hon. Ipusu, the incident occurred on Monday when he returned home after his morning exercise and met several visitors, including Adugu George, an SS2 student from Gaadi Comprehensive Secondary School, Makurdi. Dressed in his school uniform, George approached the lawmaker and presented a personally drawn portrait, explaining that his father admired Ipusu’s contributions in the House of Assembly.

Deeply moved by the gesture, Hon. Ipusu announced he would cover the boy’s school fees for the next two years. The family expressed gratitude and offered prayers, while the lawmaker wished the young artist success in his academic journey. Later, Ipusu expressed thanks to God, saying, “Thank you Jesus for providing the resources to do it.”
