Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has praised the youths of the state as the world marks International Youth Day on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
In a statement released through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, the Governor described Benue youths as vibrant and resilient. He noted that as the proud Food Basket of the Nation, Benue’s greatest harvest is not just from the soil, but in the boundless energy, creativity and strength of her young people.
Governor Alia pointed out that from hardworking farmers and tech innovators to creatives and athletes, the diverse paths of Benue youths unite in a common aspiration for a greater future. He charged them to keep rising above every challenge with courage and unity, stressing that their voices carry the hope of a peaceful, inclusive and prosperous Benue on their shoulders.
The Governor further advised the youths to engage in healthy habits and always strive to stay above acts that could bring public disorder or plunge the state into civil strife. He added that the voices of Benue youths significantly contribute to shaping governance, digital transformation and progress across the state and beyond.
