Newborn Allegedly Taken from Comprehensive Health Centre in Gboko

An incident involving the disappearance of a newborn has been reported at the Comprehensive Health Centre in Gboko, Benue State.

According to a public post shared by Zege’Orkwande Sughnen Yaaya, a woman arrived at the facility for delivery. Another woman was seen following her into the hospital, a detail confirmed by people present at the time. Nurses on duty reportedly believed the second woman was accompanying the patient, as she moved around the facility with her.

After the nurses finished attending to the woman in labour and returned to their station, the second woman was observed outside with other women who had also come for delivery. Around 4:00am, she is said to have entered the ward and left with the newborn the patient had just delivered.

As of the time of the report, the woman who took the child could not be located. The matter has been reported to security agencies, and the poster appealed for public assistance in circulating the information to aid the search.
