The Executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Council, Hon. Prince Maxwell Ogiri, on Monday received a delegation of Ugboju youths led by the Councillor representing Ugboju Otahe, Hon. Sunday Ameh, on a thank-you visit following the recent attack on Efeyi-Itikpi community by suspected Fulani militia. Accompanied by the Efeyi-Itikpi Youth Chairman, Hon. Murphy Adikwu, and the Youth Speaker, Hon. Oche Adama, the delegation said they were mandated by the community’s elders to appreciate the Chairman for his swift deployment of security personnel, prompt medical intervention for survivors, and financial support covering treatment, ambulance services, mortuary expenses, and other welfare needs.
The delegation also informed the Chairman that the affected families have agreed to hold a mass burial for the slain victims on Saturday, 8th August, 2026. Responding, Prince Ogiri thanked the community for the visit and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening security across Otukpo while continuing to support victims of violent attacks.
