A legal practitioner and politician, Edward Ejembi Omaga, Esq., has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State, citing irreconcilable differences within the party.
In a resignation letter dated June 30, 2026, addressed to the Ward Chairman of the PDP, Okpoga North Ward, Okpokwu Local Government Area, Omaga announced that his resignation takes immediate effect.
“I hereby resign my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Okpoga North Ward, Okpokwu Local Government Area, Benue State with immediate effect,” the letter read.
The former PDP member explained that his decision followed “careful reflection” on what he described as the irreconcilable differences that have engulfed the party in recent times. According to him, he has decided to withdraw his membership and cease all political activities associated with the PDP.
Despite his departure, Omaga expressed gratitude to the party for the relationships and opportunities he enjoyed during his time as a member.
“I deeply appreciate the relationships and opportunities we all shared during my time as a member of the Party. I wish the Party and its leadership all the best,” he stated.
The resignation letter was acknowledged as received by the ward office on July 17, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
This development comes amid ongoing political realignments in Benue State as various actors reposition themselves ahead of future political engagements.
