President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 individuals to key positions across 10 federal government agencies and commissions.
Among the appointments is Dr Gisaor Vincent Iorja as Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA). Dr Iorja replaces Mathias Byuan, who resigned from the position after declaring his intention to contest the Benue State governorship election.
A respected economist, legal scholar, and academic, Dr Iorja currently serves as Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC). His appointment is expected to strengthen financial management and corporate governance at the Federal Housing Authority.
Other notable appointments include former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Major General Junaid Bindawa as Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, Dr Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission, Dr Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Company (NBET), and Dr Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.
The President also reconstituted the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission and made fresh appointments to the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, alongside other strategic federal agencies.
The appointments, announced by the Presidency’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, take immediate effect as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across federal institutions.
