Troops Arrest Five Suspected Militia Members in Otukpo, Recover Firearm in Benue State

Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have recorded a significant success in the fight against insecurity in Benue State, arresting five suspected militia members during a clearance operation in Otukpo Local Government Area.

According to security sources, the operation targeted suspected militia hideouts in the Otukpo-Nobi, Amichio, and Amula Forest axis. During the raid, security personnel recovered a locally made Dane gun and five rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition.

The troops also destroyed the identified camps to prevent the suspects and other criminal elements from using them as hideouts again.

The arrested suspects are currently in military custody and are undergoing preliminary investigation, while security operatives continue the manhunt for other members of the suspected criminal group.
