Benue Youth Leader Gbenda Terver Distributes Rice and Condiments to State Youth

Hon. Gbenda Terver, Benue State Youth Leader and Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Hyacinth Alia on Youth Organization and Illegal Levies, on Thursday, 16th July 2026, distributed rice and other condiments to youths across the 23 Local Government Areas of Benue State.

The event, held at the Basketball Court of the popular Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi, attracted youths who gathered upon invitation to partake in the gesture. Donating the items, Hon. Gbenda said the initiative was born out of his desire to complement the human, capital, and infrastructural development strides of Governor Alia, whom he commended for doing excellently well in all phases of development.

He stated that the gesture aims to provide succour to beneficiaries, adding that he has meticulously selected the first phase of beneficiaries for this month, with the next batch to follow in subsequent phases. The award-winning SSA emphasised the need to support the Alia-led administration’s efforts in alleviating the plight of the people of Benue State.

The “Eagle of Benue Youth” also called on Benue State youths to intensify efforts towards ensuring the re-election of Governor Alia to consolidate infrastructural and human development in the state. Highlights of the event included the official distribution of materials and chanting of solidarity songs for Governor Alia.

The gesture has been described as one that instils hope and ignites enthusiasm among the youth in supporting the incumbent administration, underscoring the importance of purposeful leadership and youth inclusivity.
