The Nguegbende Bridge serves as a major access route for worshippers attending St. Mathias Catholic Church, students of St. William High School, farmers transporting produce, traders heading to Selagi Market, and other members of the surrounding communities. Heavy rainfall had severely damaged the wooden structure, making crossings difficult and unsafe. In response, Fr. Asue mobilized members of the church and the wider community to undertake the reconstruction using financial support from the church and voluntary labour from residents.

This crossing plays an essential role in facilitating the transportation of agricultural produce to neighbouring markets. The initiative, which began on June 30, restored functionality to infrastructure damaged by weather conditions through collaborative community efforts.
