Security Restrictions Imposed in Parts of North Makurdi as Military Bans Large Gatherings and Night Movement

Residents of North Makurdi in Benue State have been advised to take note of new security directives issued by the Commandant of the 72 Special Forces Battalion.

According to a public announcement, large gatherings with high-volume music, including birthdays and wedding celebrations, have been banned. Movement has also been restricted from 7pm till further notice, with prescribed penalties for defaulters.

The notice, which is being circulated by concerned citizens within the area of coverage, urges all residents and visitors to comply with the directives in the interest of peace and security.

“Security is everyone’s business,” the message emphasised, calling on people to remain informed and law-abiding.

The restrictions are believed to be part of ongoing efforts to maintain peace and curb potential security threats in the area. Residents have been asked to cooperate with security agencies to ensure the safety of the community.
