PDP Governorship Candidate Aondoakaa Condemns Terror Attacks in Benue, Demands Decisive Action

Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2027 Benue State election, has strongly condemned the ongoing wave of terror attacks across the state that have resulted in the killing of many innocent people and the displacement of thousands.

In a statement, Chief Aondoakaa described the recent murder of the Benue State Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Alhaji Ardo Risku Muhammad, as reprehensible and unacceptable. He also condemned the latest attack in Saai Community, Mbajir Ward of Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, which claimed the lives of scores of people and left many others injured.

The former Attorney General and Minister of Justice expressed deep shock and sorrow over the incidents, extending condolences to the bereaved families and the affected communities while praying for the recovery of the injured.

Chief Aondoakaa called on the Benue State Government to live up to its constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property. He demanded explanations on the utilisation of huge monthly security votes, urging that these funds translate into visible support for security agencies, improved intelligence, rapid response, and concrete preventive measures.

He further appealed to security agencies to intensify operations, apprehend perpetrators, and ensure justice is served, stressing that every life is sacred regardless of identity. The statement also highlighted concerns over poor rural road infrastructure, which hampers security operations.

Chief Aondoakaa prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of all victims and urged greater commitment, collaboration, and investment in the fight against insecurity in Benue State.
