The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State is facing internal tensions following the issuance of automatic tickets to certain candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a recent interview on Arise News, Barrister Napoleon Otache, the State Zonal Legal Adviser of the APC, addressed the controversy surrounding the party’s decision-making process. He emphasized the need to protect the governorship ticket, stating that while the party may deny tickets to others, the governorship position should face no cuts or challenges.
Otache’s comments come amid growing concerns within the party about the fairness of automatic tickets, which some members argue could undermine internal democracy and unity ahead of the polls.
The development has sparked debates among party stakeholders, with many closely watching how the APC leadership in Benue will manage the emerging divisions.
