Nollywood actress Omeeche Oko has narrowly escaped death after being involved in a serious motorbike accident while shooting a scene on a movie set in Lagos, just three days before her birthday.
The movie star shared a video of the incident on her Instagram page on Wednesday. According to the clip, Oko was on a bike with her colleague Victory Michael riding her when they lost control and rammed into a pole on the movie location.
Victory Michael reportedly hit his chest on the pole and lost consciousness briefly, while Omeeche broke one of her legs in the crash. Colleagues and crew members quickly rushed the duo to an undisclosed medical facility for treatment.
In her emotional caption accompanying the video, Oko reflected on the fragility of life. “Life is very very fragile. It could have been a different story but God said No. If you see an actor today, give them a hug. We take a lot of risks for the craft. All I can say is thank you God,” she wrote.
The incident has drawn attention to the risks actors often face during film productions, with many fans and colleagues expressing relief at her survival and wishing both actors a speedy recovery.
