Thousands of All Progressives Congress (APC) support groups across Benue State converged in Makurdi on Thursday for a large-scale march to commemorate Benue@50, marking 50 years of the state’s creation.
The event, described as a “journey of resilience, progress and prospects,” saw participants brandishing banners, flags, and placards in support of Governor Hyacinth Alia, with the slogan “The Alia, The Better Benue” prominently displayed.
According to Manasseh Akawe, who shared live updates from the scene, the well-attended procession highlighted the APC’s mobilisation strength in the state. Crowds of supporters, dressed in various attires including traditional and party colours, filled the streets of Makurdi as they celebrated the milestone.
The march underscores ongoing political activities in Benue State as the ruling APC continues to rally support for Governor Alia’s administration amid the state’s golden jubilee celebrations.
