Social media influencer Asom D. Jerry has drawn attention to the alleged omission of resettlement homes built for Yelewata internally displaced persons (IDPs) from the list of projects scheduled for commissioning during Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s visit to Benue State.
In a post titled “Night Whisperer,” Jerry noted that the homes were constructed using the N1 billion donated by Senator Tinubu for victims of the 2025 Yelewata attack. He claimed Governor Hyacinth Alia overlooked including the project in the commissioning programme.
Jerry, however, commended the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Sir James Aondoakaa Iorpuu, for judiciously utilizing the funds. He added that the IDPs have since moved into the completed houses.
The post included images showing the presentation of the donation cheque and views of the resettlement houses.
This development comes amid ongoing public scrutiny over the management and impact of intervention funds for Yelewata victims as the state prepares to host the First Lady.
