The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has officially reinstated the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH), Makurdi, into its accredited healthcare provider network, effective June 2026.

The decision follows a comprehensive review of the circumstances that led to the previous withdrawal of NHIA services and the corrective measures implemented by the hospital’s management. The reinstatement letter, signed by NHIA Director of Enforcement Dr. Habib Abdulhamid on behalf of the Director-General, was presented to BSUTH Chief Medical Director, Dr. Terungwa Stephen Hwande.
