Nigerian Soldiers Foil Militia Attack on Benue APC Primary in Aliade, Recover Weapons

Nigerian soldiers have successfully foiled an attempted militia attack on the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Aliade, Benue State.

According to reports, the soldiers swiftly intervened during the incident, arresting several suspects involved in the attack. Security forces also recovered a hand grenade and three AK-47 rifles from the assailants.

The timely intervention by the military prevented what could have been a major disruption to the electoral process in the area. No casualties were reported from the incident.

The development comes amid heightened security concerns during the ongoing APC primaries in Benue State. Authorities are said to be investigating the motive behind the attack as efforts continue to ensure peaceful conduct of the remaining electoral activities.
