Violence Erupts During APC Primaries in Kwande as Thugs Attempt to Snatch Election Materials

Tension and chaos marred the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in Kwande Local Government Area as thugs allegedly loyal to the Alia faction attempted to cart away electoral materials, sparking a violent clash with resisting youth groups.

According to eyewitness accounts shared on social media, youths from Turan and Ikyurav areas confronted the suspected thugs, leading to a serious fracas. Videos and images circulating online show scenes of disorder, with some individuals lying on the ground in what appears to be a violent confrontation.

The incident has raised fresh concerns about the level of thuggery and desperation during the ongoing APC primaries in Benue State. Some of the videos were described as too graphic to be publicly shared.

As at the time of this report, no official statement has been issued by the Benue State APC leadership or security agencies regarding the Kwande incident.
