Sir James Iorpuu PhD Flags Off Monthly Distribution of Food and Non-Food Items to IDPs and Vulnerable Persons in Benue State

The Executive Secretary of the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA), Sir James Iorpuu PhD, has officially flagged off the monthly distribution of food and non-food items to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and other vulnerable populations across Benue State.

The event, which took place recently, underscores the state government’s ongoing commitment to providing relief and support to citizens affected by insecurity, flooding, and other humanitarian challenges that have displaced many families in the region.

In a brief address at the occasion, Sir James Iorpuu was seen seated at a table alongside other officials, gesturing as he spoke while various items including mobile phones and cash were visibly arranged before him. The distribution exercise is expected to reach IDPs in various camps as well as other vulnerable groups who require immediate assistance.

A white truck branded with “BENUE SEMA” and “ASHOK LEYLAND” was spotted at the venue, indicating that logistics for the timely delivery of relief materials were already in place. Officials and support staff stood nearby as the flagging-off ceremony commenced.

This monthly intervention is part of the broader efforts by the Benue State Emergency Management Agency to mitigate the suffering of displaced persons and ensure that essential commodities such as foodstuffs and non-food items continue to reach those in need without delay.
