Staff and Pupils of Alpha Jolly Academy Gboko Stranded as Revenue Officials Lock School Gate Over Unpaid Taxes

Pupils, staff, and parents of Alpha Jolly Academy in Gboko were left stranded this morning after officials from the Benue State Board of Internal Revenue Service arrived at the school and locked the main gate over alleged unpaid taxes owed by the school management.

The incident, which occurred early today, prevented students from entering the premises for normal academic activities. Photos shared on social media showed pupils and parents gathered outside the school compound, with some children seen sitting on the ground or standing around in confusion.

According to a report by Isaac Teryima Jerry, the lockdown was carried out pending clearance and payment of the outstanding taxes. Parents have been advised to remain calm, as the situation is expected to be resolved later today once the proprietor addresses the issue with the revenue officials.
