29-Year-Old Comfort Hajia Allegedly Assaulted by Mentally Unstable Man, Community in Mourning

Residents of Naka, headquarters of Gwer West Local Government Area in Benue State, remain in deep shock and mourning following the alleged killing of a 29-year-old woman, Comfort Hajia Anura, in January 2026.

According to reports, the incident occurred when a man described by community members as mentally unstable allegedly attacked Comfort with a stick, inflicting severe injuries. The assault took place in Naka, leaving the victim critically wounded.

Sources indicate that tensions escalated rapidly in the aftermath of the attack. The suspected assailant was reportedly killed at the scene shortly afterward by community members, though the exact circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.
