The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has started the physical phase of its 2025 Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) across Nigeria, including Benue State, today, Monday, August 25, 2025. This follows the online pre-registration that kicked off on August 18, 2025. Here’s everything Benue residents need to know to get registered and ready for the 2025 elections.

When and Where to Register
- Schedule: In-person registration happens Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Locations: Head to INEC’s State Head Office in Makurdi or any INEC office in your local government area (LGA), such as Gboko, Otukpo, or Katsina-Ala. Check the full list of registration centers on INEC’s official website.
Who Can Register or Update?
You are eligible if you:
- Are 18 or older and have never registered to vote.
- Need to replace a lost or damaged Permanent Voter Card (PVC).
- Want to transfer your voter registration to a new location in or outside Benue.
- Need to correct or update your voter details, like your name or address.
How to Complete Your Registration.
If you started the process online, visit your nearest INEC office in Benue to finalize it. Bring identification or proof of residence to make the process quick and easy. For those starting fresh, head directly to an INEC office in your LGA to register.
