Ukum Council Chairman Hon. Jonathan Modi Ta Flags Off Borehole Repairs to Combat Dry Season Water Scarcity

The Executive Chairman of Ukum Local Government Area, Hon. Jonathan Modi Ta, has launched a proactive initiative to repair and rehabilitate boreholes across multiple communities, aimed at alleviating water scarcity during the prevailing dry season. This people-centered project reflects the administration’s priority on ensuring residents have reliable access to clean and potable water, a basic necessity often strained in rural areas at this time of year.

The program has already recorded success with the complete repair of the borehole in Dyom community. Engineers overseeing the project have conducted inspections and commenced work on additional sites, including Akpuna 1 and Akpuna 2 in Mbazun Council Ward, Uze Village, Bosua Community in Kendev Council Ward, and Agar Zaki-Biam in Uyam Council Ward.

Hon. Modi reaffirmed his commitment to extending the rehabilitation efforts to more communities in subsequent phases, emphasizing that access to clean water is fundamental to health, welfare, and sustainable development. He assured residents that the council remains dedicated to improving living conditions across Ukum through targeted interventions that address everyday challenges.
