Preparations for the highly anticipated Tiv Day celebration, slated for December 2025, are in full swing. In a strategic move, President General Mdzough U Tiv Worldwide, Chief Lorbee Ihagh, convened a closed-door meeting with the Central Planning Committee (CPC) yesterday in Makurdi. The gathering underscores the importance of meticulous planning for an event aimed at uniting the Tiv people and fostering peace.
Chief Ihagh, in his keynote address, praised CPC Chairman Prof. Tar Adejir and Secretary General Mdzough U Tiv Worldwide Comrade Luther Lorbee for their dedication. He emphasized that the meeting highlighted the critical need for careful planning to ensure the event’s success, describing Tiv Day as a platform for unity, peace, and meaningful dialogue among the Tiv nation.
The Tiv Traditional Council, led by Tor Tiv HRM Prof. James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse CFR, has urged all sub-committees to maintain lean financial budgets to simplify resource allocation for the celebration. Responding, Prof. Adejir, on behalf of the CPC, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the Tiv nation. He encouraged sub-committees to rise to the challenge, fulfill their responsibilities, and approach their tasks with utmost seriousness.
Prof. Adejir also promised the Tiv nation that this year’s celebration will be one of the best, a day poised to bring significant benefits to the community. The Central Planning Committee, under his leadership, has already received proposed budgets from various sub-committees for scrutiny and final approval.
As the December event approaches, the focus remains on driving the unity agenda and nurturing love among the Tiv people. With strategic planning and dedicated leadership, the 2025 Tiv Day celebration is set to be a memorable milestone for the nation.
