Taraba First Lady Mrs. Agiyin Kefas Intervenes, Secures Scholarship for Teen Victim of Alleged Mutilation Attack

The wife of Taraba State Governor, Mrs. Agiyin Kefas, on Wednesday paid a heartfelt solidarity visit to 17-year-old Miss Iwasen Terhemba, who was allegedly mutilated in an attack by one Ramatatu Abbas in Donga Local Government Area on January 21, 2026.

During the visit, Mrs. Kefas announced that Governor Agbu Kefas has approved the immediate enrolment of Miss Iwasen Terhemba into the Taraba State Scholarship Scheme. The scholarship package includes additional support benefits aimed at safeguarding the teenager’s education, physical and emotional wellbeing, and long-term future prospects.

Mrs. Kefas expressed deep concern over the incident and reiterated the state government’s unwavering commitment to protecting vulnerable children, especially girls, from all forms of violence and harm. She emphasized that no child should have their dreams cut short by acts of brutality, and assured that the administration stands ready to provide every necessary assistance for the victim’s recovery and continued education.
