The Executive Chairman of the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Grace Adagba, has conducted an on-site inspection of the RCM Primary School in Ihugh, Vandeikya Local Government Area, as part of the state government’s sustained drive to enhance basic education infrastructure across Benue.

During the visit on March 3, 2026, Dr. Adagba personally walked through classrooms and ongoing construction sites to evaluate progress on rehabilitation and upgrade works. She directed contractors to accelerate delivery timelines to ensure all major projects are completed before the onset of the rainy season, while repeatedly emphasizing that speed must never come at the expense of quality.

The SUBEB chairman stressed that the provision of conducive and modern learning environments remains a cornerstone of Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia’s education agenda. She noted that improved school facilities are essential for raising learning outcomes and ensuring children in rural communities receive the quality education they deserve.

In addition to assessing current rehabilitation efforts, Dr. Adagba inspected available land within the school premises for a proposed expansion of the Universal Basic Education Junior Secondary School (UBE JSS) section. The planned expansion, she explained, aims to facilitate a smoother transition for pupils moving from primary to junior secondary level and to increase access to continued education for children in the Ihugh community, reducing dropout rates caused by distance or lack of nearby secondary facilities.
