St. Dominick’s High School, Tse-Ayu, Makurdi, has once again showcased its commitment to excellence with a series of outstanding performances in recent national competitions.
On October 10, 2025, student Tse Mimidoo emerged as the overall winner of an essay competition organized by the Ladies Developmental and Empowerment Guide. Her essay on “Digital Skills vs Traditional Education: Which Better Prepares Girls in Times of Crises?” earned her a brand-new laptop and a cash prize, a well-deserved reward for her brilliance and hard work. Just a week earlier, the school’s debate team—comprising Agbir Doochivir, Akonoko Mimidoo, and Tse Mimidoo—secured the 1st runner-up position in a debate organized by HIYA Nigeria. The competition, themed “Restaging the Nostalgias of Nigeria’s 30th of September, 1860,” celebrated Nigeria’s 56th Independence anniversary and highlighted the students’ eloquence and intellectual depth.
The winning streak continued on September 29, when eleven learners from St. Dominick’s excelled in debate, spelling bee, and quiz competitions organized by Platinum Global Minds. Their remarkable performances have qualified them for the national finals, scheduled for October 29, 2025, in Abuja. These achievements, recorded within weeks of resuming the 2025/2026 academic session, reflect the school’s unwavering dedication to academic excellence, talent development, and holistic education.
Stay tuned for more updates on this impressive run of success.
