In a powerful display of solidarity, the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aondoaver Berger Alfred Emberga, on Friday, November 7, 2025, hosted the Makurdi Local Government All Progressives Congress (APC) Expanded Caucus at his private residence in North-Bank, Makurdi. The gathering, described as a strategic unity forum, saw the Speaker issue a stern call for unwavering loyalty to Governor Hyacinth Alia and the APC, warning that disloyal elements would find no place in the party’s future.
Addressing the packed audience, Speaker Berger praised Governor Alia as a selfless leader and paragon of virtue whose dedication to Benue’s progress demands total support. “Those who are not steadfast in backing the Governor have no place in the forthcoming party congress,” he declared, urging members to shun negativity, division, and actions that could undermine the administration. As the Governor’s Point Man in Makurdi, he charged the caucus to stand firmly behind the Alia-led government to ensure its developmental strides remain unhindered.
Echoing the Speaker’s sentiments, the Executive Chairman of Makurdi Local Government Council, Hon. Joseph Keffi, and Commissioner for Science, Energy, Innovation and Technology, Hon. James Dwem, lauded the Governor’s transformative achievements across Makurdi and Benue State. They advised party faithful to reject witch-hunting and embrace unity in the pursuit of progress.
Other contributors, including Elder Comrade Williams Gagher (Isherev), Elder John (Tyoshin), Hon. Samuel Agber (Ugondo), Dr. Ahungwa (Ipusu), Elder Rewano (Uke), Hon. Abdullahi Hailu Sadiq and Hon. Lucas Nyajo (Councillors, Makurdi Legislative Council), Hon. Mrs. Esther Nyareyhgba (Makurdi Women), Hon. Antor Mathias (Representative of Governor Alia’s appointees in Makurdi LG), and Comrade Orpin Clement (Makurdi Youths), all pledged total allegiance and offered prayers for the Governor’s continued success and divine guidance.
