Senator Zam, who described himself as “flying the highest political flag of the zone in Benue State,” expressed his disappointment over Angya’s alleged use of the phrase “MINDA de nahan.” He questioned the intent behind this statement, asking whether such divisive rhetoric sets Angya apart from Governor Hyacinth Alia, whom Zam implied should be seen as a leader for the entire state, not just a specific group. In a pointed remark, Zam challenged whether Alia should be labeled a “Kunav Governor” rather than a governor for all of Benue.

The Senator further criticized Angya’s approach, questioning how the ADC figure plans to garner support from MINDA indigenes after allegedly portraying them as “second-class citizens.” Zam accused Angya of arrogance and argued that leadership from the Kunav region has only highlighted MINDA’s superiority in various aspects of leadership.
